Ideas for Music
I was brought up with very little music, therefore, I made an effort to have some classical music in my home. These are classics I have liked. I also enjoy world music.
- The Planets Suite for Orchestra by Gustav Holst
- Peer Gynt – Morning by Norwegian composer Grieg that depicts the rising sun in the Moroccan desert
- Swan Lake, a classic ballet by Tchaikovsky that tells the story of a prince and a princess
- Symphony No. 40 in G Minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I understand that it’s often used in music therapy for children with ADHD
- The Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns
- The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky
- Pictures at an Exhibition – a piece by Mussorgsky
- Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov
- Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev – a story in words and music
- The Four Seasons by Vivaldi
- The Toreador Song from the amazing Carmen opera by Bizet
