Ideas for Music

I was brought up with very little music, therefore, I made an effort to have some classical music in my home. These are classics I have liked. I also enjoy world music.

  • The Planets Suite for Orchestra by Gustav Holst
  • Peer Gynt – Morning by Norwegian composer Grieg that depicts the rising sun in the Moroccan desert
  • Swan Lake, a classic ballet by Tchaikovsky that tells the story of a prince and a princess
  • Symphony No. 40 in G Minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I understand that it’s often used in music therapy for children with ADHD
  • The Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns
  • The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky
  • Pictures at an Exhibition – a piece by Mussorgsky
  • Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov
  • Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev – a story in words and music
  • The Four Seasons by Vivaldi
  • The Toreador Song from the amazing Carmen opera by Bizet
